absinthe and roses

So it's already August 31st?!! Wow.  That's kinda crazy. And school starts tomorrow?!?!?!? WHAT. Oh my gosh. Anyway. This month has been interesting so far. I babysat, I went to color guard practices, I read, I wrote, I rearranged ALLLLLL the books, I redid my bedroom, and a lot of other stuff. xD So. Writing. I kinda had to tuck away the thing I was previously working on, and I decided to start fresh with a new project. it's actually turning out pretty well! I read. A lot . Not just in August, but all summer .  I reread the Harry Potter books (I try to do that every summer), I (finally) read THE CROWN by Kiera Cass (and it was AMAZING, you guys.), I reread DREAMERS OFTEN LIE (multiple times, too xD) by the lovely Jacqueline West (who's also a pretty great friend!!!), and a ton of other books. xD So August was a lot of fun, but also kinda flew by in the blink of an eye... Sorry for uploading a few days late! I've been busy. So. Writing is great and fun and all, but it takes so LONG. Especially if you write longhand, like me. xD So here's my survival guide to writing. One: have pizza at the ready. LOTS OF IT. Pizza is my writing fuel, and I can't survive without pizza. Did I mention have pizza? Two: have music playing in the background. I like to use Pandora radio and have a good playlist playing. It's typically either classical music (Beethoven, Pachelbel, etc) or Disney. I'm a kid at heart. Three: Go hide in your bed and die slowly while avoiding your book.  Try not to die while you're writing your book... xD Four: Have a good hot drink on hand. A personal favorite is raspberry tea with honey in it. Lots and LOTS of honey... Five: Just avoid your book. It can wait. xD No, I'm just a horrible person who doesn't like writing... So. Today is my mom's birthday! Happy birthday mommy! Love ya! And yesterday was the first day of August. SCHOOL STARTS IN LESS THAN A MONTH, YOU GUYS. WHATTTTTTTT. I've already gotten all my school supplies except for my backpack. xDD I miss all my friends and I'm really quite excited for school to start again. Yay! So I've been trying to keep up with the whole weekly post thing, and I already failed. -.- So the week after I posted my first blog post, we went to South Dakota. FOR A WHOLE ENTIRE WEEK. And we camped in Custer State Park. And we saw Mount Rushmore. And the Crazy Horse Memorial. And we went to Wall Drug. I LOVED THE TRIP. But it's also good to be home. And the week after our trip, I completely lost track of time and wrote and wrote and wrote. I meant to put up a blog post, I swear... xD So my life has been very busy, but it's been a good busy. I'm trying to write every day, and I also set aside time to read. I've also been working on
